Carousel Machine |
Carousal machines are recirculating rotational molding machines which are operated using MMI Interface with a PLC are the most common type of rotomoulding machines used industrially. Theses advanced machines can have up to 6 arms and comes in two different models, fixed and independent. A fixed carousel consists of 3 fixed arms that move together. One arm will be in the heating chamber while the other is in the cooling chamber and the third in the loading/reloading area. The fixed carousel works well when working with the same mold. The independent carousel machines are available with more arms that can move separately from the others. This allows for different size molds, with different heating and thickness needs.
The carousal machine has three sections : the heating section, the cooling section and the loading/unloading section. The cooling takes place in a a closed compartment and as the name suggests the mechanism resembles that of a carousal. In a typical carousal machine the arms are motorized and are controlled independently of the central hub or the oven temperature or dwell time and hence can rotate a circle freely. At the end of each circle, the turret rotates 120 degrees to move each mold to the next cycle such that no arm of the machine is idle at any time during the process.
Salient Features of the Carousal Machine

- Arms conveyors.
- Control Electric Panel with digital temp. controller
- Enclosed cooling chamber with high volume circulation fans.
- Variable Speed A.C.frequency drive/ D.C. motors for major and minor arms
- Three station fixed turret biaxial machine with one cylindrical round moving overn & one cooling station
- Electrically driven automatic oven door. with safety limit switches.
