Hot Runner Controller |
A Hot Runner Controller system is an assemblage of heated components used in plastic injection molds that inject molten plastic into the socket of the mold. The cavities are the integral part of the mold shaped like the parts to be produced. On the other hand, a cold runner controller is simply a channel formed between the two halves of the mold, for the reason of carrying plastic from the injection molding machine nozzle to the cavities. Every time the mold opens to eject the newly formed plastic parts the material in the runner is ejected as well, resulting in waste. A Hot Runner Controller system usually includes a heated manifold that distributes the plastic entering the mold to the various nozzles, which then meter it precisely to the injection points in the cavities. This efficiently reduces plastic waste and also the cycle time.
Hence, a hot runner controller is basically a temperature controller, which controls the temperature in the hot runner. It is also referred to as hot runner-manifold system or runner less molding sometimes. These controller has the ability to create consistent parts. Hot runner controllers varies in terms of user interface features and regulatory compliance. Many hot runner controls come up with a digital front panel or analog components such as knobs, switches, and meters. With the advent of modern technology, computer-programmable or customized , web-enabled, and ethernet or network-ready hot runner controllers are also available in the market.
